The magic of dubbing. An innovative teaching experience at a high school and a therapeutic group instrument for adolescents in Parma

July 2021, about a year and a half after the start of the Covid pandemic. During this time of reflections, emergencies, news and changes, I begin to wonder how I can be of help in the school context, to support boys and girls in their growth path, in a new way. A way that can include working on the group and relationships, voice and breathing, the body, awareness of oneself and one's psycho-emotional qualities and to feel, welcome and transform fears and anxiety into strength, vital energy and awareness. A new way that goes beyond the confines of the therapy room and enters, with kindness, professionalism and enthusiasm, in the group school contexts in which the morning life of adolescents passes. And so, it all begins. But there is no such project, without understanding the need and desire to provide the opportunity for more boys and girls to experience this journey, beyond the boundaries of the school context, towards new navigation routes that include adolescents in the territory of Parma. And as often happens, the desire can become reality, if we decide to be deeply helpful and meet the people who can support, in full harmony, the realization of this project oriented to adolescents. Thus was born the meeting with the teacher of Theatre of the Liceo G.D. Romagnosi, Sabina Borelli: director and actress, theatrical trainer and art project creator. Together, we have created a bridge between the school reality and the territory, so that there is the possibility, for boys and girls of Parma, to give continuity with the dubbing project at school and access a specific and innovative path that allows you to work in groups, among peers.
