In this article the current mentality is analyzed in the light of the violence-victimism paradigm that characterizes it. The sadomasochistic scene is approached as a prototype scene of such paradigm to capture the elements that could imprint a transformative and not repetitive destiny. The narrow thinking and the chosen fact are indicated as the two poles that differentiate the elaboration of mourning from melancholy and passive adherence to the widespread consolidated mentality.
