Couple violence is still widespread today: there is no social, economic or ethnic group that is exempt from it. The study of dozens of cases, carried out through the analysis of trial and prison files and prolonged interviews with individuals convicted of this type of crime, has allowed us to identify the criminogenesis and criminodynamics behind the violence, even lethal, against partners. Among the former, a cultural "pathology" of gender discrimination and attachment disorders; among the latter, those techniques of neutralization or moral disengagement such as denial of responsibility, minimization of damage caused, attribution of blame to the victim, etc.. On the basis of these criminogenesis and criminodynamics, a treatment project has been launched for abusing partners, the S.A.Vi.D (Stop Domestic Violence), of which the methodology refers, which, in terms of tertiary prevention, aims to intervene to prevent the abusing partners from repeating their behaviour.
