Some notes on the body and the embodied consciousness today

Psychoanalysis has had different philosophical interpretations: from Freud's positivist background, to Jung's Romanticism veined with mysticism and magic, to Lacan's structural linguistics. Today, not even this last great interpretation appears more sustainable: it is a renewed materialism, in the light of the phenomenological research of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, but also of ancient and new antimechanistic tendencies of scientific research (Goldstein, Gregory Bateson, Jay Gould), which appears the most fertile perspective: On this line, we try to outline what the consequences of this new paradigm of the body could be, for the psychoanalytic unconscious, dwelling above all on the two concepts that constitute its fulcrum: that of priestly logos and that of embodied consciousness.
