Il 9 maggio scorso George Atwood è venuto a Roma, dove ha presentato la traduzione italiana del suo ultimo libro, l'abisso della follia, nella sede della John Cabot University. Insieme a Robert Stolorow e, successivamente, Bernhard Brandchaft e Donna Orange, egli ha creato quella corrente psicoanalitica che va generalmente sotto il nome di Psicoanalisi Intersoggettiva, anche se, personalmente, Atwood preferisce definire l'impostazione del proprio pensiero come "contestualismo fenomenologico".
