The cognitive, psychological, behavioral and social impact of epilepsy on child development plays an important role in the assessment, monitoring and intervention. The aim of this work is to review the cognitive and psychological characteristics of children and adolescents with epilepsy, with particular reference to the neuropsychological and psycho-behavioral assessment administered by SSD Psychology based in the hospital of Alessandria. This paper shows the path that originates from the scientific and clinical references of the first work group to the future perspectives of assessment and intervention, maintaining the focus on patients and family-centered care.
