Aim The aim of the project will be, through written narration, acquire and understand the emotions of new mothers, family members and healthcare staff during hospital admittance. Methods The Trial considers a population of 100 subjects divided into 3 arms: Mothers of newborn, assisted and cared for in accordance to normal clinical practice Mothers of newborn, assisted and cared for using the tool of Narrative Medicine by healthcare professionals trained by the project NAME course. Mothers of newborn, assisted and cared for using the tool of Narrative medicine by healthcare professionals trained by the “Verba Curant” project. The narration can be presented to the project team, in writing on paper, by email or written on links provided by the team: a dedicated writing room will be prepared, a free Wi-Fi service, corporate tablet. Results The collection of narratives will offer qualitative and quantitative data: the content analysis will be able to offer a very detailed profile of the narrative under consideration. Conclusions The data of the study may reveal the basis for conducting a project aimed at defining on a larger scale, in different types of patients, the real benefit of the introduction of the tool.
