Objectives: Analysis of literature and physical spaces on the perception of hospital environments and "non-places", their use by patients and operators. Methodology: selection, examination, analysis of some major essays on the subject and in-depth semiotic and sociological study. Results: evaluation of the use of environments. Conclusions: in view of the results, a revision of the hierarchy of spaces would be appropriate.
